PAY WHAT YOU WISH
The process of making and experiencing art is too meaningful for there not to be equal access in owning it, and I want to provide a pathway to share with all who feel kindred to my work. I offer monthly pay what you can art batches on Instagram and rely on your honesty in what you are able to contribute for its value. As a practice in generosity and humility, I ask that you participate with the same spirit. If you have the means to give more, know that it will circle back to sustain this model, and if your resources are limited, please trust my sincerity, and feel comfortable offering any amount.
How does the process work?
On the first Saturday of each month, at 12pm noon ET, I’ll release a batch of pieces on Instagram (various sizes, some old, some new). Send a message with which pieces you’re interested in, and I’ll add your name to the pot for those works. Bidding is open for two days. After selecting a person at random for each piece, I’ll contact them for their payment details. Buyer pays shipping costs.
Can I request a piece even if I’ve already tried in the past?
Yes! In fact, in efforts to help everyone own a piece that wants one, your name gets put in as many times as you enter (and aren’t selected). Once you do get chosen, you can still enter again in the future, but the count starts over again.
FREE JOY TRAVELING BOOK
During the pandemic, I created the FREE JOY project, connecting strangers through the process of giving and receiving analog mail. FREE JOY is returning in the form of a traveling book, where each receiver is able to view past entries, and then contribute one of their own before sending it to the next person. Ideas for entries include: quotes, drawings, collages, poems, handwritten web links to videos / songs, photographs, articles / sections pasted from books and magazines, pressed flowers, and anything else you find joyful and day lifting.
*Each person pays forward shipping to next recipient. If you have limited resources, but want to participate, please let me know in the Notes section below, and I will create a pre—paid postage label for you (currently limited to USA only).
